Fashion Mingle, a fashion tech startup that has built a nationwide network for fashion professionals hosted its second networking party during New York Fashion Week on February 11th at ROW NYC.
The event was designed to provide networking opportunities for fashion industry professionals who come to New York to work behind-the-scenes or attend the runway shows at NYFW. Originally planned for just 50-100 people, word of mouth spread like a wildfire and the mixer attracted hundreds of Fashion professionals and industry leaders. The event was structured in 3 parts which consisted of an exclusive VIP experience with red carpet interviews conducted by Dora Spectacular from 7 pm – 8 pm accompanied by cocktails and hors-d’oeuvres served by District M. VIPs also enjoyed exclusive vendors Neveen Dominic Cosmetics and Marco Polo. VIPs spotted on the red carpet and throughout the event included Diandra Barnwell (E! So Cosmo), Jeremy Carver (CW Supernatural), Christopher Collie (Senior Editor at Large at Fashion Week Online & GQ Insider), Francesca Baker (Conde Nast Executive), Caribbean Rising Star Arita (Singer at Tempo Networks), Ray Diaz (Actor & Model), and CBS host Deborah Gordon.

At 8 pm the general admission entered the Row NYC lounge to join the VIPs in the networking experience. Unlike other events during NYFW, this networking party consisted of exchanging contacts and ideas with a collaborative mindset behind it.
“There were some great people at this event, this was great let’s stay connected” ~ Christopher Collie (Fashion Week Online)
“I loved the diversity in the room. Met so many incredible people from all walk of life with one common goal – to expand our network. Incredibly inspiring.” ~ Diandra Barnwell
“This was so much fun I didn’t expect to meet that many great people that I can really work with to grow my business” ~ Gregorgina Herrera (Mexican Jewelry Designer)
The networking event hosted by Fashion Mingle united makeup artists, hair stylists, fashion photographers, on-air personalities, influencers, entertainers, models, fashion designers, PR professionals, and bloggers from across the World with the New York fashion community.
The networking party concluded with a dance party at 10 pm to the beats of Dj Nikki Nicole.
With the Fashion Mingle Networking Party being such a great success and having filled the need of providing networking opportunities beyond just the runway shows during NYFW, it is no surprise that Fashion Mingle announced it will host its next networking party during NYFW on Sunday, September 9th, 2018. We all know the hit show WAGS Miami and we sure know Khloe Kardashian‘s and Emma Grede’s Denim Brand GOOD AMERICAN which reached $1 million in sales on its first day.

Well, Darnell Nicole from WAGS Miami who referred to herself as “A big bitch” was selected as a brand ambassador for the trendy denim brand which expanded its product offering to sweats, bodysuits, jackets, and sweaters. Darnell is definitely one of my favorite WAGS not only because she is tall like myself but also because she lives in her truth, is authentic, remains natural (no plastic surgery) despite all the pressure and embraces her curves. GOOD AMERICAN’s mission statement is “to celebrate curves with clothing designed to flatter and flaunt”. Who better to pick than Darnell? You guys should definitely check out her profile on GOOD AMERICAN. I had no idea she was a dancer. While you’re at it check out her Podcast Dear Darnell.

Now to the event… I follow Darnell on SnapChat and saw that she was coming to Dallas. The pop-up shop will take place tomorrow Friday 11-17-2017 at the Nordstrom in the Galleria Mall in Dallas (13350 Dallas Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75240) from 1:30pm until 2:30pm. Shoppers will enjoy over 300 pieces on the floor and receive styling tips from Co-Founder Emma Grede (@EmmaGrede), Darnell Nicole (@DarnellNicole) and other ladies from the #GoodSquad such as Delilah Belle (@DelilahBelle) and Kim Johansson (@KimJohannson).
I am a huge fan of peplums, they originated in Ancient Greece and rose to popularity with Women of the 1940’s. Peplums were used to create a cinched waist and curvy hips, resulting in the perfect feminine silhouette. In the look below I am wearing an Esé Azénabor pencil peplum halter dress with hand-stitched embroidery from Esé Azénabor‘s Fall/Winter 2017 Collection. The fabric has a stretch yet keeps everything in shape similar to Hervé Léger‘s bandage dresses. The open back and zipper add extra sex-appeal.
Pay attention to the detailed beading along the halter

Off Shoulder Top:
Lucille Ball, Brigitte Bardot, Natalie Wood and Grace Kelly all wore it. These style icons proved that a parenthetical swoop of material from shoulder to shoulder could magically make your cleavage look extremely appealing. The trend was brought back to life around 2014 and hasn’t left ever since. In the look below I chose a longer striped off shoulder top paired with white skinny jeans from Zara and metallic block heels from Asos. If you want to show legs you can even wear the top by itself if your going for an effortless look on the beach for example.
