Last year, I attended SXSW, curious.
This year, I walked in prepared.
And that changed everything.
There’s a different energy when you’re no longer trying to “figure it out,” but instead moving with intention—knowing what rooms you want to be in, who you want to meet, and how to position yourself when you get there.
What most people don’t realize is this:
Many of the most valuable rooms at SXSW aren’t behind paywalls.
They’re accessible.
You just have to know where to look—and be bold enough to walk in.

The Rooms That Mattered
Some of the most impactful moments came from spaces centered around women building real businesses:
- The Female Quotient Lounge
- Create & Cultivate’s Future Summit
- Private dinners and curated conversations
- An intimate discussion on inclusivity in beauty
There’s something powerful that happens when you put ambitious, driven women in the same room. The conversations are sharper. The energy is different. The intention is clear.
And more importantly, people show up ready to give, not just take.

Proximity Changes Everything
One of the biggest shifts for me this year was access.
Not just being in the room—but being in direct conversation with decision-makers:
- CMOs of major companies
- Marketing leaders from global brands like Disney
- Executives shaping the future of sports, tech, and venture
When you’re sitting across from people at that level, something clicks.
They’re no longer “out of reach.”
They’re human. Strategic. Curious.
And when they can connect your face to your name—and your work to real value—you stop being a cold email. You become a real opportunity.
Even more valuable?
I was able to ask what actually matters to them:
- What initiatives they’re prioritizing
- What kinds of partnerships they’re looking for
- Where they see gaps in the market
That kind of insight is something you can’t Google or put into ChatGPT.
The Energy of Women in Power
I’ll be honest—this was my biggest takeaway.
Being surrounded by powerful women just does something to you.
Not in a surface-level “girl power” way, but in a very real, grounded way:
It expands what feels possible.
What surprised me most was how generous these women were.
They weren’t gatekeeping.
They were connecting.
They were giving real, actionable advice.
No fluff. No ego. Just honesty.
And that’s rare.

The Creator Economy Is Growing Up
There was a noticeable shift in conversations this year.
Creators are no longer just talking about content.
They’re talking about ownership.
About equity.
About long-term value.
About building businesses that exist beyond the algorithm.
The new creator doesn’t just want a brand deal.
They want a seat at the table.
A say in direction.
A stake in what they’re helping build.
And brands that don’t understand that shift are going to fall behind.
A Personal Reminder
In between all the panels, meetings, and dinners, there were quiet moments that stuck with me the most.
People telling me:
- “You inspired me tonight.”
- “I needed to hear your story.”
- “You’re on the right path.”
And sometimes, that’s the confirmation you don’t realize you need.
Because if you’re building something—especially in spaces that don’t always feel predictable—you will question yourself.
This reminded me that I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.

You Don’t Get There Alone
If there’s one truth I’m walking away with, it’s this:
You don’t reach the next level by yourself.
You need a tribe.
You need proximity.
You need rooms where people see you—and are willing to open doors.
SXSW wasn’t just about networking.
It was about alignment.
I’d love to keep that energy going beyond Austin. I’d love to hear from you!
Where are you from?
What are you building?
And how can I support you?
